About
This drawing depicts the interior design of the Library of Congress in meticulous detail. The image shows a unique perspective drawn from a lower angle. In this way, viewers are able to observe the full design of the coffered ceiling, which has gracefully designed buttresses supporting it at two sides. The drawing also shows three levels of library stacks filled with books. Stretching from the viewer’s point to the end of the hallway, the stacks appear never-ending. The unique perspective and the light brown filling of watercolor makes the Library of Congress appear stately, majestic and dignified.
