Women were integral to home front efforts of WWII as they would often work typically male-dominated jobs while many men were away at war. This image shows a hearty group of women dressed in overalls, with their hair tied up in bandanas on their lunchbreak at their factory job. Their mannerisms and behaviors appear typically masculine, perhaps to demonstrate that work quality was not compromised during the war, a fear many had with so much of the male population away.
