The Navy League of the United States is an association that advocates for a supports the U.S. Navy. Obviously very important during the first World War, when this poster was created, Roberts depicts a strong woman calling her fellow keepers of the home front to action to support the troops abroad. The woman is young and lovely, yet also appears strong and independent, dressed and prepared to do hard work.
