About
This political cartoon depicts a personification of “graft politics” paying off a line of “floaters” to keep the polls busy, while stopping a busy, working mother from voting with the other. Additionally, other small vignettes of the trials and tribulations women faced such as harassment and obligations to the house and home dot the scene. The entire tableau illustrates how difficult it would have been for women to vote, even if they received full suffrage.
