About
The Detroit Publishing Company specializes in color postcards, many of which depict American history. Although, as the title suggests, there is not much known about this photograph, its composition is visually interesting. The image allows the viewer to feel as if they themselves have joined the troops, as the soldiers crouch with their backs to the viewer, a smoky atmosphere enveloping them.
